Crassula arborescens ‘Blue Waves’

Crassula are soft, unarmed succulents that are native to South Africa. The genus contains the common jade plant, Crassula ovata, which has a branching, shrub-like form, but it also includes but also many more unusual varieties, some of which work well as carpet or filler plants.

Crassula arborescens ‘Blue Waves’ (above and below) is one of our favorites, with its soft blue-green hue and ruffled foliage.

Crassula are easy to grow; they’re extremely drought-tolerant, storing moisture in their leaves even when there’s none to be had. As long as you avoid frost, these plants should thrive!

One of the most impressive things about Crassula is the wide, diverse spectrum of colors and forms within the genus. Crassula capitella ‘Campfire’ (below), with its fiery leaf tips, is one of our favorites! Available now.
