our roots

In 2003, Grubb & Nadler Inc. was created as a partnership between Flora Grubb and Saul Nadler. We opened Flora Grubb Gardens, our renowned retail store in San Francisco, that same year, and in 2005 we purchased East West Trees, a small wholesale plant brokerage. Starting with a few plots of land in the sun-drenched hills of the Rainbow Valley, we began growing plants both for our retail store and the wholesale trade. East West Trees changed its name to Grubb & Nadler in 2019. In 2023, we opened our second retail location in Los Angeles.

Grubb & Nadler Nurseries now sells wholesale plants grown to Flora Grubb Gardens’ exacting standards to designers, landscapers, and retailers all over California and the West, from Texas and Arizona to Oregon and Washington.
