Our Specialties: Succulents and Cactus

The entry point for many people into gardening and landscaping is succulents. Whether it’s cactus, euphorbia, echeveria, aloe, sedum, or hundreds of other varieties, succulents are forgiving of neglect, striking in appearance, and unthirsty. Many are hardy to cold, some even to extreme temperatures. Lots do well in containers as houseplants and in small garden spaces.

Succulents are popular plants for potted compositions, like this one at Flora Grubb Gardens, the retail sibling of Grubb & Nadler in San Francisco.

We offer a wide variety of cactus and succulents ranging from near-tropical types like pachypodiums to tough, cold-tolerant plants like Yucca rigida. And our cactus offerings continue to grow as the popularity of this famously spiny succulent family swells.

Sizes range from 25-gallon container specimens for instant landscaping to two-inch potted plants sold per flat for windowsills, container compositions, and mass planting.

Agave americana is a staple for Grubb & Nadler’s customers. Its landscape versatility and tolerance of climates from coast to inland make it popular. Here’s a nice batch in 15-gallon cans.
